For your next pot hanger project try making this stylish Macramé hanger instead of using a metal or wooden ring. Even though its very easy to make I wouldn’t recommend this in your first project with Macramé as you need a good understanding on how the basic square knot works.
1. Tie a piece of string to mark the centre of your bundle of rope to be made into the pot hanger.
2. Take 220cm of rope and fold it in half. Measure 10cm from top of the piece of string and place the half-way fold of the piece of rope on this section and secure with a half a square knot (measure to make sure its in the right position) and then finish with the other half of the square knot.
3. Keep repeating the square knots so you are create a 20cm flat braid (remove marker string when you go over it)
4. Finish by folding over and secure with a Macrame Wrap / Gathering Knot . Making sure you tuck the ends of the smaller rope in the wrap.
