I made up these setting last week and I spend most of today making up the necklace. I thinks it the perfect touch of modern glamour with a Parisian vintage edge. I am really happy with the structure of the necklace and my next project would be to make this style is some colour (Spring is only around the corner)
Altered Art
How to make a baroque chandelier style altered art pendant
Ok I am on a bit of blog writing roll. So I decide to ride it and add the picture tutorial I made up a few months ago on creating a chandelier pendant. The full tutorial can be found here
DIY Hair Clip – Buzzy Bee
One of my favourite items that arrived this week was some filigree french hair barrettes. They are like a blank canvas to go crazy on. You can glue cameos, rhinestones and weave beads on them.
I have gone bee crazy lattely and currently my favourite colour is yellow. I created the glass cabochon using the image from our Paris printed college sheet. I then set the glass cabochon on a frame and glued it on the hair barrette with the small daisy cabochons. I then got some 26ga wire and secured one of the ends to the filigree then started weaving a mixture of Czech flower cups and 10mm & 17mm Lucite style beads.
Supplies are available from our online store www.beadsonline.com.au
New Shipment of Frames
So little time and so much to do. Monday I got a big shipment of frames. Approx. 10 different style. I have listed most of them on our website. Now the fun job begins to dress them up. So I made up a whole heap of glass cabochon using our college sheets and the next step now is to photograph them.
Altered-art faceted cross

You will need
– Clear glass faceted cross
– Pictures (i.e photos, printed material anything on paper will work as long as the ink doesn’t run when wet)
– Small scissors
– Clear adhesive (Mod-Podge Dimensional Magic, Glossy Accents etc)
– Pen/pencil
1. Cut the image to fit the cross. Trace the cross with your pen and cut a 2-3mm inside your tracing. Trim to fit image behind the paper.
2. Take some adhesive and add a SMALL amount to the back of the pendant. Place the paper on the back. Using your fingers smooth out any air bubbles and make sure the adhesives is spread evenly. Use a clean cloth to clean any excess glaze
3. Allow to dry for a while. Take your pin and insert through the hole in the top of the pendant through the paper. Using your pin you may want to pierce a hole next to it. Take your your head pin and instate it through the hole. The reason you use a pin first is so you don’t tear the paper with the head pin. Using your paint brush a layer of the clear adhesive on the back of the pendant. Allow 24 hours to try. Remove head pin and now the pendant is ready to add to your designs.
Altered Art Clear Glass Cabochon Tutorial

You will need
– Clear glass cabochons
– Pictures (i.e photos, printed material anything on paper will work as long as the ink doesn’t run when wet)
– Settings
– Small scissors
– Clear adhesive (Mod-Podge Dimensional Magic, Glossy Accents etc)
1. Cut the image to fit the glass cabochon. You can either hold the glass cabochon firmly on the paper and cut around with small scissors or trace around the cabochon with a pencil and cut inside the tracing. The glass cabochon are very forgiving so you don’t need to be too exact or too neat.
2. Apply a some glaze to the back of the glass cabochon. For bigger cabochons (i.e 25mm and upwards) apply a thin layer, make sure there are no air bubbles and gently drop face down on top. If there are air bubble in the glaze before dropping the image on top use a pin to push them to the side. For smaller cabochons (20mm & 18mm) you can apply a few drops of glaze on the back of the glass cabochon and place the image face down on top. Place the glass cabochon between your thumb & forefinger and apply pressure to spread the glaze out. Clean any excess glaze with a damp towel.
3. When the cabochons are dry glue to the frame. You can use your glaze/clear adhesive or jewellers glue.
