Geometric Double Strand Necklace

Technique

STEP 1 – Cut the medium chain into two 16cm sections

STEP 2 – Create the following beaded-connectors:
A: Four long beaded-connectors (use 40mm eye pin): One 5mm bead, two 10mm beads & one 5mm bead
B: Ten thin beaded-connectors: Three 5mm beads
C: Ten double beaded-connectors: Two 8mm beads
D: Six single-10mm beaded-connectors: One 10mm bead
E: Seven single-8mm beaded-connectors: One 8mm bead

NOTE: Beaded-connectors are created by threading the bead or sequence of beads on an eye pin, then trimming the eye pin 1cm from the last bead and forming a loop.

STEP 3 – Make up the first beaded necklace strap for the longer necklace by using 6mm jump rings to join up the beaded-connectors from step 2 & cast metal connector round in the following order: One single-8mm beaded-connector (step 2E), one long beaded-connectors (step 2A), one single-8mm beaded-connector, one long beaded-connectors, one single-8mm beaded-connector, *one metal connector, single-10mm beaded-connectors (step 2D)**, repeat from * to ** two times, one metal connector and five double beaded-connectors (step 2C)
Repeat this step for the second necklace strap.

STEP 4 – Take one 6mm jump rings and thread the end of one metal connector and the pendant. Now take one more 6mm jump ring and thread the other side of the metal connector and the end of one the necklace strap from step 3. Take one last 6mm jump ring and thread the top of the same top loop of the metal connector and the second necklace strap.

STEP 5 – Make up the first beaded necklace strap for the short necklace by using 4mm jump rings to join up the beaded-connectors and chain from step 2 in the following order: Five thin beaded-connectors (step 2B) and one 16mm length of chain (step 1)

Repeat this step for the second necklace strap.

STEP 6 – Take one 6mm jump ring and thread the last single-8mm beaded-connector (step 2E) and the cast metal charm. Now take one 4mm jump ring and thread the open end of one of the beaded necklace straps from step 4 and the open top of the beaded-connector. Now take one more 4mm jump ring and thread the open top of the beaded-connector and the second necklace strap.

STEP 7 – Take one jump ring and thread one end of the small necklace (step 7) and one end of the long necklace (step 4) and one clasp. Take one more 6mm jump ring and thread the other end of the small necklace and long necklace and the cast metal 15mm ring.
