Vintage Patina Necklace Kit

50 6mm jump rings

Technique

1 Create the following beaded-connectors:
A: Six mixed beaded-connectors: One 8mm howlite bead, one 3mm spacer bead & one 8mm howlite bead
B: Fourteen single opal beaded-connectors: One 6x8mm Imperial Crystal white opal rondelle beads
C: Eight single howlite beaded-connectors: One 8mm howlite bead
D: One long beaded-connector: Four 4x6mm Imperial Crystal white opal rondelle beads
E: Four triple long beaded-connector: Three 4x6mm Imperial Crystal white opal rondelle beads
F: Four double beaded-connector: Two 4x6mm Imperial Crystal white opal rondelle beads
G: Six double howlite beaded-connector: Two 6mm howlite bead
H: Four single howlite beaded-connector: One 6mm howlite bead

NOTE: Beaded-connectors are created by threading the bead or sequence of beads on an eye pin, then trimming the eye pin 1cm from the last bead and forming a loop

2 Create one of the outer necklace straps by taking 6mm jump rings and joining the beaded-connectors from step 1 in the following order: [One 1A mixed beaded-connector, 1B single opal beaded-connector] x 3, [one 1C single howlite beaded-connector, 1B single opal beaded-connector] x 4

Repeat this step for the second necklace strap

Note Brackets [ ] are also used to enclose a sequence of beaded-connectors that are to be repeated a specified number of times.

3. Finish the outer necklace by taking one 10mm jump ring and threading the top of the pendant and the open ends of the two necklace straps from step 2.

4. Divide the chain into two 6cm sections. Start to create the inner necklace strap by taking 6mm jump rings and joining the beaded-connectors from step 1 and the chain in the following order: One 6cm section of chain, [one 1H single howlite beaded-connector, one 1F double beaded-connector] x 2, [one 1G double howlite beaded-connector, one 1E triple long beaded-connector] x 2, one 1G double howlite beaded-connector, one 1D long beaded-connector, [one 1G double howlite beaded-connector, one 1E triple long beaded-connector] x 2, one 1G double howlite beaded-connector, [one 1F double beaded-connector, one 1H single howlite beaded-connector] x 2 and one 6cm section of chain.

5. Take one 6mm jump ring and thread one end of each of the necklace tiers from step 3 and 4. Take another 6mm jump ring and thread the other side of each of the necklace tiers. Take one more 6mm jump ring and thread the jump ring at the end of one necklace and attach a clasp. Take the 10mm jump ring and attach to the jump ring on the other side.
